Are the 2008 Nationals and 3rd New England Championships the same event?
Question: Are the 2008 Nationals and 3rd New England Championships the same event?
Answer: No.
As you can see by looking at page 2 of the individual competition registration form (go to Registration Forms to download the form), the 3rd New England Championships is listed separatedly from the 2008 Nationals, with different registration and event fees. The competition categories for the 2008 Nationals are on the bottom of page 2. The competition categories for the 3rd New England Championships are on pages 3 and 4. (By the way, the group competition registration form is for the 3rd New England Championships only.)
The 3rd New England Championships contains numerous traditional and contemporary events; age categories; and experience levels.
The 2008 Nationals, on the other hand, consists of only the official international events in taolu and sanshou, with no age categories and no separate experience levels.
You can register to compete in one tournament or the other, or both.
